Each winter, students at Princeton Latin Academy take part in the Headmaster’s Latin exam. The Latin exam is unlike the National Latin exam or any other standardized Latin exam in that it is designed to challenge not just the students’ knowledge of Latin, but also their ability to study and retain information from year to year. The test consists simply of every vocabulary word in the School’s Latin text book. Younger students have fewer words and shorter tests because they have not gone as far in the book, while more advanced students may need as many as three hours to complete the exam.

Those students who score 90 percent or higher are awarded a certificate from the Headmaster.
