The Opera

Princeton Latin AcademyThe School's rich curriculum of literature, art, music, history, philosophy and language culminates in the production of an opera. Students work with the headmaster and music teacher transforming a canonical piece of literature into an opera. Through this experience, children learn to be part of something greater than themselves.

Every January the graduating class, under the guidance of Magister Perrulli and Magistra Toda, embarks on an arduous journey—in a two month period the graduating class creates and performs an opera. Two weeks before the opera performances, the entire school practices and brings to life the words written by the graduating class. All the while, the Magistri volunteer their time, talents and energies to assist the children in the creative endeavor. Since Princeton Latin Academy’s founding twenty-three years ago, the annual opera performance has been an integral part of the school’s curriculum.

Please complete and submit the form below to reserve tickets to attend this year's opera. Tickets are $10 each and can be paid for (by cash or check) at the door on the day of the performance.

All proceeds go to the PLA Opera Fund and will help finance future performances.

To ensure the best possible experience for the student performers and those attending the opera, we ask that infants and toddlers under the age of four not attend. And, flash photography is prohibited during the performance
