Princeton Science Academy:

Alumni Profiles

Over 16 students have graduated from Princeton Science Academy over the past nine years. As graduates of Princeton Science Academy, they carry unique experiences and skills that they have drawn upon in their lives since graduation, all of which have been recognized by colleges and universities throughout the country. Whether it is studying science at Carnegie Mellon or literature at Smith College, opera at Sarah Lawrence or philosophy at Drew University, or taking a risk and starting an organic farm, our students have followed the path of their own choosing. Please take a moment or two and read through the alumni profiles to the right. These names represent only a sample and we will be adding more over the next few weeks.

Corinne Pascale:, PSA class of 2004, has a B.S. degree in Biomedical Engineering, with a minor in Electrical Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis and is currently a graduate student of Engineering & Technology Innovation Management at Carnegie Mellon University.

When considering her experiences and the challenges she faces, Corinne comments on how PSA has helped her:

"PSA has been a great contributor to my success in college! Coming from such a small learning environment, it was natural for me to become familiar with my professors. I was surprised at how few of my friends would attend office hours or seek help from them when they struggled - but I never gave it a second thought."

" PSA helped to make me feel more comfortable in my own skin. I'm a science nerd, and I think that's great! I was able to adapt quickly to a college filled with students who were just like me. With PSA’s support, I made my way into a science/engineering school – and I have had their support ever since."

"I'm thankful every day for the time I spent at PSA. "

"PSA’s focus on its students is clear from the very beginning," says, Corinne, "nd this can be seen through students’ interaction with the teachers, the curriculum, the teaching style, and outside-of-the-classroom activities."

" The magistri (Latin, for ‘teachers’) are a wonderfully talented faculty! They are passionate about what they know and are excited to share that with the students. At PSA, I was encouraged to explore new fields and to work through some of the most challenging courses."

About a classical education, Corinne concludes,

"People don't believe me when I tell them about this school,” replies Corinne. “It's rare to find a school that encourages success in science and math, as well as literature, the history of science, and art!  None of the most famous scientists or writers had been single-minded: why should we be?"

Matthew Cintron
Class of '07

"Thanks to PSA, the extensive work on philosophy has enabled me to look at problems from more than one angle, trying to envision all possibilities and increase my vision as well as my critical thinking skills."
